Ballet Recital

Sara had her Ballet Recital and we are thrilled that it is over! Ballet is not for this little girl. It has been a fight to get to her to each class since January.

They started out by showing us the things they have been doing in class. Oh my, have they improved!

Then they ended with their Toy Shop Ballet. There was a shop keeper who cleaned up for the night (Sister Wiblin) and left the toys. Then the White Fairy (Evynn) came and used her magic to wake up all of the toys one at a time. Sara was the Mama Teddy Bear and Ella was the Baby Teddy Bear. They did a cute little dance that depicted them going on a picnic that is ended prematurely by rain. The other toys were a Rag Doll (Charlotte), a Jack in the Box (Rainie) and two Dolls (Allie and Mariah).

Blake wanted a picture, but wouldn't sit still for one. This is the best I could do.

ABC Preschool Graduation

Sara was so lucky this year because she got to be in the same class as her cousin, Kyle. For the program they got to sit next to each other and have their parts together.

She refused to wear her cap for pictures.

A Batman Birthday

You know it wouldn't be a birthday in the Washington home if Daddy didn't give a present early. Blake loves this Mario vs. Wario racetrack.
This guy of mine won't hold still for 2 seconds. These are the best pictures I got of him opening presents.
I must mention this. I took him to Old Navy to pick out a birthday shirt. He insisted on this plain gray polo.
He had to go outside to get his present from Papa, Bama, Kiki and Steve.
He immediately ran and jumped into the tent.
It didn't take the other kids too long to join in.
Can you see where a little "mouse" stole some frosting?
Both children insisted that they were innocent.
Happy, Happy Birthday to the cutest 4 year-old I know.

The Sting

On May 4th Blake got stung by a bee on the forehead. This sting is above his left eye, by his hairline. It happened around 4:00 pm. I gave him Benadryl and we iced it and thought nothing more of it. He had a small amount of swelling, but nothing concerning.

The next afternoon he had been outside playing at the Lott's and when he came inside he looked like a Klingon - Star Trek character. The swelling was contained between the middle of each eyebrow and there was slight swelling on his eyelids. I gave him some more Benadryl and he had a nap.

When he woke up the swelling had spread even more. Oh, my poor boy. The swelling now reached the outside of each eyebrow. I took him to see Kari, an InstaCare nurse. She said that the swelling was normal but to give him Ibuprofen to help with the swelling. Luckily this was the worst of it.
He did not like me taking his picture.
These pictures do not do it justice.
My poor boy. I wanted to laugh and cry at the same time when I would look at him. Luckily it didn't bother him at all.
The next day the swelling on his forehead was nearly gone. However, his eyes were almost swollen shut.
The day after that, the 4th day his eyelids were only slightly swollen. He looked pretty normal for his birthday party.
