Playing in Phoenix with Ellie

The girls were so excited to see each other when we got to Phoenix, that they didn't want to go to sleep. We had to put in a movie to help calm them down.
Lounging by the pool, sipping their juice.
Mommy and Blake enjoying a snack.
Sara, the wuss, needed the floatie intended for Blake.
Ellie, the fearless fish, only needed her arm floaties.
The pool was a little chilly, so Dad and Blake took a dip in the spa.

First Haircut

I took these pictures last night in the tub to show how long Blake's hair was getting. Like Sara, his hair only grew long on the crown of his head and at the bottom, down around his ears. What is nice about boys, is that they don't need to have awkward stages during their hair growth. You just cut it off. We made a visit to Aunt Jamie's salon today and I walked out with such a handsome young man. Not that he wasn't handsome before, but he looks so much better with his short hair! We stripped him down to his diaper and I held him. He was very curious about the clippers and did not want to sit still. Aunt Jamie was very patient with him. I just can't believe that he got his first haircut at 10 months, Sara was 18 months before she got her first official haircut! And even then we just kept cutting off the mullet. Here's to short hair!

Pedi

In anticipation of our vacation to the beach, Sara got a pedicure today. She sat so still for 4 coats. If I would have let her, she would have used up all of Aunt Jamie's stickers. I made her feel like she was special with only 4 flower stickers.

Blake's Quilt

Grandma Sharon has been working on a cowboy quilt for Blake in her free time. Now that it is finished, he loves it. He sleeps with it in his crib at night. Sara can't wait for her princess quilt.
Thank you Grandma Bear for all of the blankets to keep us warm and comforted!

Uncle Steve's Birthday

Sara fully understands birthdays and looks forward with great anticipation to her next one. In fact she has already been inviting guests to her party on "Optober fith." I tried to explain that her birthday is far away by telling her that Blake will have a birthday before her. She thought that I meant that Blake's birthday was tomorrow. I then explained that we will have Easter first and before that Uncle Steve will have a birthday. When she realized that Steve's birthday was just next week, she announced that she was going to help Kiki make him a birthday cake. Crystal had Sara and Kate over to help decorate the cake. While showering she gave them free reign over her make-up. This is the beautiful result.

Fwingin' on the Fwings

We decided to enjoy our nice weather, low 50s, and go outside to play on the swingset. Blake loved swinging, as did Sara. She just needed to get over the fact that Blake needed to be in the baby swing. Then Bryan came home from work and let the dogs out. She played with George and Lady. We got out her trike and she was pretty good at peddling around in in the backyard. She was upset when it was time to come inside for dinner. This was a nice change from pretending to be sick so that she can watch movies. We are really looking forward to more nice weather.
